The Fenton Mansion, located in Jamestown, New York stands on a hill overlooking Brooklyn Square. Reuben E. Fenton, 1819-1885, was Governor of New York State from 1865 to 1869. He also served in the US Congress (1853-1864) and US Senate (1869-1875). He was a close political associate of Abraham Lincoln. It is currently a museum with many, very interesting displays. This photo was taken by James Albro about 1994. The lady is Deborah Albro. When we were kids, we used to play on that cannon. Whether by chance, or on purpose, the cannon back then was aimed right at the old Jamestown city hall.
