Missing Sisters - Can you help us?

Our longtime family friends, Linda and Nancy, are searching for their three older sisters.

These three girls were born to Alex Valentine Smith, (Bn. Abt. 1900 - 1906) and Velma Elnora Risley Bn. 1929.
Alex was 25 years older than Velma. Alex and Velma were married on 17 Mar., 1949 in St. Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida.
Shirley Gail Smith Born 27 May, 1951 at Corry Memorial Hospital, in Corry, Erie Co. Pennsylvania.
Her grandparents, Velma's parents, Lawrence L. Risley and wife Ethel Eunice (Doane) lived in Bear Lake, Pa.
not far from Corry.
Judy Ann Smith Born 23 April, 1952 at Mound Park Hospital in St. Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida.
Mary Louise Smith Born 14 Mar, 1954 at Mound Park Hospital in St. Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida.
Two other children, Martin John (deceased) Born. 15 Mar 1950 and Nancy Arlene Born 11 Mar 1955,
both in St. Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida were born to Velma and Alex.
Alex and Velma's last daughter, Linda, was born in 1964 in Jamestown, Chautauqua, New York.
In the mid 1950's, possibly 1955, as Nancy recalls she was a baby. the girls were taken from their family
by Social Services. Nancy recalls her mother saying they took all five children, but brought her (Nancy)
and Marty back. They kept the three girls. Velma also, told our mother once, they kept the girls, but
brought Marty and Nancy back.
From my research I found out, Velma's cousin Genevieve Weeks was married to John W. Lock, the Director
of the Welfare Department.
We do not know what happened to the girls after they were taken. Were they adopted? Did they remain in
foster care? Were their names and / or birth dates changed? We have researched continuously to find
these sisters, but to no avail. Linda has taken an ancestry DNA test, and I have uploaded her results
to other DNA sites. As of yet, we have not found any sibling matches, nor any closer than cousins.
Those cousins have been researched.
In the past, Linda and Nancy have contacted the state of Florida, but were told the records are sealed,
only the person themselves can see them. They would very much like to find their sisters.
Thank you for reading our request. We realize it has been 70+ years since these events, and those
involved in the taking of the girls, have since passed away, but if anyone out there has any
information about these people or events, please contact me at mountainbreezemom@gmail.com
          Sincerely,
          Patty Albro
